Regenerative medicine at home in Dubai: a guide

"Regenerative medicine" is used a lot, and defined rarely. This guide explains what it usually means in a Dubai wellness or aesthetic clinic, what each treatment is, and what to ask before you book.

What is regenerative medicine?

It is a broad term for treatments that aim to work with the body's own repair processes rather than simply managing symptoms. In wellness and aesthetic clinics it usually refers to a handful of treatments, covered below. They are supportive treatments, not cures, and results vary from person to person.

Which treatments does it cover?

  • Exosome IV therapy: an infusion of purified exosomes, tiny messenger particles that cells release to communicate with one another.
  • Stem cell IV therapy: an infusion of a prepared stem cell solution, offered to support the body's repair processes.
  • Peptide therapy: physician-prescribed peptides, short chains of amino acids, selected and dosed for your goals.
  • Salmon DNA and PRP: polynucleotide injections and platelet-rich plasma prepared from your own blood, used for skin and scalp.

You can compare them side by side on our regenerative medicine overview.

What does the evidence say?

Research is active, but uneven. Evidence for exosome and stem cell infusions in a wellness setting is still limited, and peptides and PRP vary widely by the specific product and use. A good provider will be upfront about that and will not promise outcomes.

Questions to ask any provider

  • Who will administer the treatment, and are they licensed?
  • What is in the product, where does it come from and how is it tested?
  • What is the evidence for this treatment and for my goal, and what are the risks?
  • Is the price clear, including how many sessions are suggested?
  • What happens if I have a reaction, and who do I contact afterwards?

What happens at a consultation?

Your clinician reviews your health history, medications, allergies and goals, explains which treatment, if any, may be appropriate, and talks through risks, realistic expectations and pricing. There is no obligation to go ahead. Treatments may not be suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active infection, or have a current or previous cancer diagnosis, among other reasons.
